The Heron’s Closet

Closet Clean-Out Service Agreement

Welcome to The Heron’s Closet — Where we help you decide what stays, what goes, and what gets a second chance.

Thank you for inviting The Blue Heron Boutique into your home! Our goal is to make your closet clean-out an enjoyable, stress-free experience while helping you create space, simplify your wardrobe, and give pre-loved items an opportunity for a second chance.

Please read this agreement carefully before your scheduled appointment. Your signature confirms your understanding and acceptance of the service terms outlined below.

1. Our Service

The Heron’s Closet is a personalized closet clean-out service provided by The Blue Heron Boutique. Our team will work alongside you to sort through your closet and help identify items you would like to:

  • KEEP — Items you love and want to keep.

  • CONSIGN — Items you would like considered for resale through The Blue Heron Boutique.

  • DONATE — Items you would like to give a second life through donation.

  • DISCARD — Items you have decided are no longer usable and should be disposed of appropriately.

Our team will help guide the process, but you remain responsible for the final decisions regarding your belongings.

2. Service Rates and Time

The Heron’s Closet service rates are:

  • First two hours: $99

  • Each additional hour: $40

The $99 service fee covers the first two hours of your scheduled appointment.

If additional time is needed, our team will discuss this with you before the initial two hours are exceeded. Your approval is required before we continue, and additional time will be charged at $40 per hour.

If you do not approve additional time, the appointment will conclude at the end of the initial two-hour period, and any unfinished sorting may be addressed through a separately scheduled appointment.

3. Client Responsibilities and Authorization

The client agrees to:

  • Provide a safe and reasonably accessible working area.

  • Be available to make decisions during the appointment unless other arrangements have been agreed upon in advance.

  • Clearly identify items to keep, consign, donate, or discard.

  • Identify belongings that must not be moved, removed, or handled.

  • Secure cash, jewelry, important documents, medications, and other valuables before the appointment.

No item will be removed from your home without your authorization under the sorting and removal terms of this agreement.

You are encouraged to review all selections carefully before items leave your home.

4. Consignment Through the Blue Heron Boutique

Items selected for consignment will be evaluated according to The Blue Heron Boutique’s current consignment policies, accepted seasons, merchandise needs, and condition standards.

The client understands and agrees that:

  • Selecting an item for consignment does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Items must meet the boutique’s current condition and seasonal requirements.

  • The Blue Heron Boutique reserves the right to decline items that do not meet its standards.

  • Items accepted for consignment will be processed under the client’s consignor account.

  • Pricing, commissions, markdowns, selling periods, proceeds, and unsold-item procedures are governed by the boutique’s separate consignment policies.

The client authorizes The Blue Heron Boutique team to transport designated consignment items from the client’s home to the boutique for evaluation and processing.

Items not accepted for consignment: The client authorizes The Blue Heron Boutique to donate items that are declined for consignment to a local donation organization, provided those items have been designated for consignment under this agreement. Items that the client has designated to keep will never be included in this process.

The client should identify any item they do not want donated before it leaves their home.

5. Donations and Discarded Items

Items designated for donation will be separated from items designated for consignment. The Blue Heron Boutique team will transport authorized donation items to an appropriate donation outlet.

The client understands that:

  • Donation acceptance is subject to the receiving organization’s policies.

  • The boutique cannot guarantee that every donated item will be accepted.

  • The boutique does not provide donation appraisals, determine tax-deductible values, or guarantee tax deductions.

  • The client is responsible for retaining any documentation needed for personal tax purposes.

Items designated for disposal will be handled according to the client’s instructions and applicable disposal requirements.

Once authorized items have been transferred to a donation organization or disposal destination, they may not be recoverable.

6. Personal Belongings and Valuables

The client is responsible for identifying valuable, sentimental, fragile, or otherwise important belongings before sorting begins.

The client agrees to communicate any special handling instructions and to review decisions carefully before items are removed.

The Blue Heron Boutique will exercise reasonable care while performing the service. Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive any rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be waived.

7. Appointment Scheduling, Cancellation, and Rescheduling

Appointments are arranged directly with The Blue Heron Boutique following submission of the client’s contact form and confirmation of a mutually convenient date and time.

If the client needs to cancel or reschedule, the client agrees to contact the boutique as soon as possible using the contact information provided during booking.

Cancellation fee: $40.

The client acknowledges that a $40 cancellation fee may apply when the client cancels a scheduled appointment, subject to any applicable legal cancellation rights.

The cancellation fee does not replace the service fee for work already performed, and no duplicate charge will be imposed for the same cancellation.

Any cancellation fee will be applied only as permitted by applicable law. Where a statutory cancellation right applies, that right takes precedence over the cancellation fee.

8. Payment

Payment is due at the conclusion of the appointment.

The total service charge will include:

  • The $99 fee for the initial two hours.

  • Any additional time approved by the client, charged at $40 per additional hour.

The Blue Heron Boutique will communicate accepted payment methods before the appointment.

The service fee is separate from any consignment proceeds or other transactions involving items accepted for resale.

Any cancellation fee is separate from payment for services performed, subject to applicable law and the cancellation terms above.

9. Photographs and Privacy

Photographs requested before the appointment are intended to help The Blue Heron Boutique understand the closet space and prepare for the service.

Clients are encouraged to avoid including faces, personal documents, financial information, or other sensitive information in submitted photographs.

The Blue Heron Boutique will not use photographs of the client’s home, closet, or personal belongings for marketing or promotional purposes without the client’s separate permission.

Optional permission for marketing and promotional use

Please initial one choice:

_____ YES, I give The Blue Heron Boutique permission to use approved photographs of my closet or belongings for marketing and promotional purposes.

_____ NO, I do not give permission for marketing or promotional use.

This choice is voluntary and does not affect the service provided.

10. Acknowledgment and Agreement

  • I understand the service rates and that additional time requires my approval.

  • I understand that consignment acceptance is not guaranteed and is subject to the boutique’s separate consignment policies.
